How many items am I allowed to take out at one time? The total number of items you may have out at one time may not exceed 50 items per card, but this number and the loan period of the item varies depending on the type of item. Use the Circulation Policies chart in our Borrower’s Guide to see our loan periods, item limits, and overdue fines for different items in our collection. Also, keep in mind that if we request and obtain an item from another library it will circulate based on their loan rules, which may be different from Babylon Public Library’s.

How do I reserve a Museum Pass? Babylon Public Library now uses Tixkeeper for all of its Museum Pass reservations. Simply find the date/s that you wish to reserve the pass and use your Babylon Library card to set a reservation. Need more info on our museum passes? Check out our Museum Pass page.
I’m not a Babylon resident, but I have a Suffolk County Library card; can I still use your library? Absolutely! There are some restrictions placed on out-of-district patrons in terms of borrowing privileges and being able to attend certain programs , but for the most part any Suffolk County Library patron can borrow our items, register for the majority of our programs and take advantage of any other services that we provide.
Does the library have a fax machine and/or scanner that I can use? Yes, BPL has 2 copiers near their Circulation Desk that have faxing and scanning capabilities. For more information check out our “General Services” page.
